My high school film. A science-fiction epic satirizing the poor special effects and convoluted storylines of low-budget films. It follows a scientist named Ken Striker as he tries to hunt down the ravenous mutants who killed his best friend. This film was originally conceived as the pilot episode of a series that never got made, but in 2020 I had made plans to make a sequel. Unfortunately, those plans were cut short due to the pandemic. The concepts for the cancelled film can be found further down on this page.

We made a lot of compromises in the designs for this movie. Sometimes it was because of what the script required, or a simple lack of resources. I wanted to keep a sort of "use-what-you-have" feel to this movie, so the script didn't require us to spend hundreds of dollars and man hours to build intricate physical sets or costumes. This is why many of the background sets were built and photographed within Halo's "Forge" mode, as well as the space backgrounds being from the Elite Dangerous photography feature. Little did I know, Forge would be my gateway into the 3D work I do now.

Poster Design and Final Release

At that time, "Plasm" was the biggest project I had worked on. From conceptualization to release, it was about an 8 month process. Not only did I have to juggle this with school and a job, but everyone else involved did, too, and since I was leading the project, they would only work on it if I was there to direct. Plus, this was my first real attempt at using green screen and visual effects, so I was learning as we went.
EPISODE II (2020)
As stated before, this film was cancelled due to COVID-19, but I did some work in preparation for it. I still consider this to be some of my early work, and although not much came of it, this project taught me a lot about writing and 3D animation.
